Parks are beautiful and worth considering if the yard is small — including spots near Moonlight Beach in Encinitas, around Carlsbad Village, and in Del Mar. They also come with homework. Picnic areas often need a reservation, and some public sites ask for a city permit and a vendor check before a rental can set up.
